The Redwoods i-SITE is the main entrance point to the famous Redwoods & Whakawerawera Forest. Here you can pick up a map and find out more about this magnificent area, including the Forest's history, outdoor recreational opportunities, exotic tree species and native undergrowth.  The Forest tracks offers panoramic views, and being in close proximity to lakes, thermal areas and the city centre have made The Redwoods & Whakarewarewa Forest one of Rotorua’s most spectacular natural assets and one of the city’s greatest treasures.

Over 5600 hectares of forest awaits you to enjoy and explore at your leisure. If you love the outdoors and want to experience nature at its best this area is definitely for you!

Who are we?

The Redwoods Visitor Centre & i-SITE is a local government funded organisation which provides a comprehensive 7 day a week information and reservation service.

What do we do?

We are Rotorua’s official information and booking centre.

We are the experts in providing free and impartial information about Rotorua's attractions, accommodation and sightseeing options. We take the time to listen to you and provide expert advice on all options available, suited to  both your budget and aspirations.

When are we open?

We are open every day (except Christmas Day) from 9am-10pm during the winter, and from 9am-11pm during the summer (December - April).
