Family Fun

Suitable for pushchairs, the Lake Okareka Boardwalk is an easy stroll around the edge of one of Rotorua's most popular lakes. The 5km return walk showcases native vegetation, farmland and wetlands, with expansive views and wildlife. A two minute drive down the road will take you to Lake Tikitapu (The Blue Lake) where you can enjoy another 5km loop.

More sheltered is The Redwoods Forest. Enter the Forest off Long Mile Road, pick up a map from the Redwoods i-Site & Visitor Centre and explore the forest where Disney's Pete's Dragon  was filmed.

After all that walking, a relaxing soak in the natural hot spring of Kerosene Creek is exactly what the family needs. There are so many great activities and things to do for families in Rotorua, so for your next family adventure, visit us in NZ's Coolest Hot Spot!
