With daily direct flights from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, and connecting flights from other cities, Rotorua Airport is proudly the gateway to and from the Central North Island.
Sitting on the shore of Lake Rotorua, overlooking the iconic Mokoia Island, Rotorua Airport is just a 10-minute drive to the city centre, and perfectly placed for exploring the Rotorua region, Bay of Plenty, and the Central North Island.
Passengers travelling to and from Rotorua Airport enjoy the fully refurbished, modern terminal which truly reflects Rotorua, allowing us to welcome and farewell passengers with the manaakitanga (hospitality) Rotorua was built on. Facilities include a stunning café with views of the tarmac called Terrace Airside, a family room, meeting rooms and a business hub.
Car rentals & transport companies
New Zealand’s major rental car and campervan brands are located within the arrivals terminal. Travellers can hire vehicles on a pre-booked, or walk-up basis subject to availability.
