Home suite home in Rotorua

When it comes to travelling, whether with your partner, family or a group of friends, booking yourselves into a hotel suite makes sense in a number of ways.

Suites always feel a bit more like home away from home, offering more space plus additional amenities that make travelling more enjoyable. In other words, no need to pack the kitchenette sink!

A range of prices and styles meet every budget. Here are just a few we recommend, but for even more options, just contact our friendly i-SITE travel consultants for free advice and booking services.

Pullman Rotorua

Every room at the five-star Pullman Rotorua offers beautiful views, whether Lake Rotorua and Mokoia Island, geothermal areas, mountains or forests. Even the giant, free-standing bathtub (pictured at top) in the Superior Suite enjoys views over Government Gardens to the lake and the rolling foothills beyond.

Pullman’s décor is sophisticated and warm, providing a total Zen vibe. Subtle, calming colours and low-key details create the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing, luxurious stay. The 50-inch smart TV pivots, allowing you to snuggle up to watch movies in bed, or swivel around so you can catch up with the news from the breakfast table before you head out to explore Rotorua. This spacious suite quietly whispers white robes, wine in hand, and time to unwind.

Regent of Rotorua

At another point along the design spectrum you’ll find chic black and white décor featuring mirrored dressers, fluffy throws, characterful wallpapers, touches of shiny chrome, and bursts of colour here and there. This is classic Regent of Rotorua – crisp luxury boutique style with just the right accents.

Regent’s spacious three-bedroom, two-bath Executive Loft provides plenty of space for a family of up to seven, as long as the seventh person is happy with the single top bunk above a queen-size bed.

A full-size kitchen with stove, oven and microwave make meal-making a breeze, however, this 2021 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice recipient is just steps away from Rotorua’s famous alfresco dining precinct Eat Streat. It’s also just two blocks away from the newly redesigned Rotorua Lakefront boardwalk and epic Volcanic Playground where there’s something for every child and adult.

Novotel Rotorua Lakeside

On the opposite end of Eat Streat and across the street from the lakefront you’ll find the popular 4.5-star Novotel Rotorua Lakeside. The huge 245-square-metre Royal Suite is a three-bedroom, two bath apartment-style accommodation spread over two floors. On the bottom level, a large lounge with oversized sofas and a big-screen TV are great for relaxing or watching the game. An enclosed kitchenette and bar near the large corner dining room with panoramic lake views provide plenty of space for entertaining or a night of board games.

Upstairs, three king bedrooms and a large spa bath all have incredible views of the city or lake.

Rydges Rotorua

Rydges Rotorua is renowned for their friendly staff and high standard of cleanliness. Parents love that their children aged 12 and under dine and stay for free when sharing their parents’ room.

The King Suites (pictured above) at this 4.5-star hotel feature a cosy lounge with classic warm, autumnal vibes, but the focal point of the room is the view: beautiful, lush trees just outside, with Lake Rotorua and Mokoia Island in the distance. Picture soaking in the view with a warm cup of tea in the morning as the curtains flutter in the breeze.

Rydges is another one of the city’s bike-friendly hotels, where you’re welcome to bring your own bike/s and store them at the hotel’s secure indoor storage facility, and clean them before you head home. You'll find the world's best year-round mountain biking destination, Whakarewarewa Forest, just a 10-minute ride away.
