Play On: Little Red Riding Hood Goes Blue

  • Play On: Little Red Riding Hood Goes Blue

Queens Drive, Rotorua, Bay of Plenty

Play On is thrilled to be part of the Colour the Night line-up, presenting a live play reading of Little Red Riding Hood Goes Blue by David McPhail and Jon Gadsby. It’s a non-PC political take on a classic fairy tale – packed with plenty of laughs and just the thing for a wintry night!

Little Red Riding Hood is on her way to visit her Grandmother in the forest, to deliver her weekly supply of Paul Henry Show DVDs. However, on her journey, she encounters first a National Party activist who wants to change her name from Red to Blue, a Woodcutter who has gender issues and a wolf (or man in wolf’s clothing) who could possibly be the sitting MP for Northland. She then meets Fred Fracker who is determined to find oil under the forest and mine it.

Play On is a play reading series of New Zealand work presented by local performers. There is no cost to attend the event, a koha donation is optional.

Read by Liam Dixon, Val Isherwood, Charlotte Morris, Richard Rugg, Ian Stabler, Candy Stevenson and Simone Walker.

Running time approx. 50 minutes.

Presented by: Big Picture Minor Deets by arrangement with Playmarket.
