5 hot tips when 'getting hitched' in a forest

1. Heel stoppers
A forest floor is soft so make sure you have heel stoppers OR wear funky flats for the ceremony and switch out to heels for the photos and reception;

2. Not all of your guests need to sit
The stand/sit option is a common theme. Also, you can use bench chairs from hire companies or old style pew chairs/school hall chairs. These look great under the Redwood Sails;

3. Be heard
Ensure you get a PA system so that your music and your ceremony (especially your vow exchange) can be heard by all of your guests - important if there is a large crowd (80+);

4. Canapes and drinks can be served under the sails
Let your guests mingle under the sails while you have your photos taken. Have them entertained by a trio, quartet or band. Event Impressions of Rotorua is your key contact when booking  your ‘Under the Sail’ wedding occasion at The Redwoods and they can help with any arrangements or ideas;

5. Retain "an air of mystery"
Think about whether your guest will see your car arrive. Traditionally, when making your grand entrance to the Under the Sails venue, your guests will see your vehicle arrive. Maintain "an air of mystery”, by disembarking the Bridal car on the other side, allowing the car to serve as a barrier. It may sound complicated but any good wedding Celebrant will be able to assist you.
