Family Adventure in RotoruaRotorua is big on family friendly experiences with a range of options to suit different requirements and budgets.

Day One

Take a walk along one of the many tracks in the magnificent Whakarewarewa Forest. Drop into the Redwoods Visitor Centre on Long Mile Road for information, maps and guide books.

Head to Skyline Rotorua, take the Gondola to the top and race downhill on the gravity powered luge.

End your day with a casual dinner from one of the many takeaway options on offer. This could be enjoyed at the Rotorua Lakefront, or head to the Government Gardens and take in the spectacular view of the Rotorua Bath House.

Day Two

Relax with a dip in one of the many natural geothermally heated mineral pools in Rotorua, choose from Polynesian Spa, Hells Gate, or Waikite Valley. In the summer months, cool off in one of our 18 pristine lakes.

In the afternoon spend time at the Rotorua Museum of Art and History where you can discover the great stories of the Rotorua region through the innovative exhibitions and cinema experiences.

Experience Maori culture with a Hangi and performance at Te Puia, Mitai or Tamaki Maori Village.

Day Three

After breakfast head to OGO (a large see-through inflatable globe) where you’ll catapult down specially designed hill tracks while enjoying views of Lake Rotorua.

Take a picnic and stop in at AmazeMe. Get lost in the maze, check out the butterfly enclosure and the small animal petting zoo.

The afternoon adrenalin fix starts at Agroventures. The kids can pedal the Shweeb monorail pod, ride the jet boat or thrill themselves on the Swoop. Then, if the kids (or the adults) still have any energy, complete your day with a visit to either Wingspan Birds of Prey, Putt Putt Mini Golf or pat a lion cub at Paradise Valley Springs.
