Elect the thrill of the helicopter or the elegance of the floatplane, to view some of the most dramatic geothermal scenery and activity New Zealand has to offer. Combine this with an unlimited selection of activity and attraction options.

Our most popular air experiences are over Mt Tarawera, a dormant volcano that erupted suddenly and without warning in 1886, with a helicopter landing on one of Rotorua’s hottest geothermal park Hells Gate, or a helicopter landing on the active volcano White Island with the opportunity to explore the Island with an experienced pilot/guide.

A further focus includes a jet boating tour on the Rangitaiki River and The Hidden Valley of Orakei Korako with delivery to and from these adventures by floatplane or helicopter – a wonderful blend of New Zealand experiences in a magnificently diverse environment.

With such a diverse range of aircraft including either the Executive Squirrel or Robinson 44 Clipper II Helicopter, 2 x Cessna Floatplanes and unique to New Zealand, the de Haviland Otter Floatplane, Volcanic Air Safaris can provide a total capacity of 28 passengers. With prior notice greater numbers can be achieved.
