The 11th edition of the Whaka100 proudly holds the reputation of one of the toughest mountain bike marathons in the southern hemisphere. Just 3 minutes from Rotorua’s CBD, the Whaka 100 takes advantage of the 140km of single track perfection throughout the Whakarewarewa Forest. The course provides a great contrast of groomed handcrafted trails to rugged backcountry mountain bike bliss. Challenge yourself through some of the best single-track trails in the world.

Be one of the first to attend this new workshop – Art in glass. In this workshop, you will create a small artwork which can be fired in a single firing. Lake Tarawera Spring Fair

The Lake Tarawera Spring Fair is an annual fair run by the Lake Tarawera Rate payers Association. Lots of new stalls this year including The Vegan Food Caravan, Great Grandma Jenkins Christmas Cakes, Ironing board covers, Wooden products for Early Childhood, Scent with love - Candles, and some old old favorites like NZ Crepes Co, Redwood Butchery, Bob Gorgon and Dave Page with their wooden crafts, Lee-Ann and Chris Hanson with Heating Solutions-a range of heating products coming in... Lake Tarawera Sailing Club and the ever popular tombola, Daryl Sheffield and Canvas Tech-all your canvas needs, The Tractor Shed Arthouse, Bev and her Iris's that always sell out, Gina with her scented soaps, Adele Rennie and her Hiccup baby range-lots of new things I've been told, Helene Barnes and her necklaces and crochet items... and sooo much more, including a lot of kids stalls selling fudge, bird feeders, clothes, dumplings, games, home made lemonade, lemon honey... and don't forget the coffee Trucks! The auction will start at midday, so come and join in, or bring anything you want donated to the fair. This is a cash fair - we have very very very limited reception that comes and goes. Lots of parking is available at Rangiuru Bay, which is a short walk along the picturesque Lake Tarawera shoreline. Mobility parking is available down at Stoney Point. Please remember this is a cash fair.
