1931:The Show, launches on December 9th to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the opening of the historic venue’s juvenile pool on December 21st, 1931. More than just a show, ‘1931’ is part of a bigger plan to foster emerging talent. The EMERGE program is designed to handpick and nurture New Zealand’s up and coming entertainment stars.
Featuring a stellar cast of kiwi talent with a live band, dance troupe and some stunning voices, the show is musical theatre in style and will run every Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturday’s throughout January and February. Pre-show platters and tapa’s are available from 4:00 pm in the venues’s stylish new wine bar, Summertime. Groups of 20 or more can opt for a dinner in the upstairs Tea Room prior to the show.
Conferences And Corporate Events
Within this unique building with its many original features, is a dazzling collection of meeting spaces – a museum gallery, thermally heated sapphire pools, the elegant Foyer, classic Tearoom and spectacular 600 m² function room – the Lido Lounge, once the adult pool.
The Blue Baths also offer specialist catering, entertainment and event management at other unique landmark venues and locations in the area including the neighbouring BathHouse Museum, Rotorua Convention Centre and the Redwoods at Whakrewarewa Forest.

The Pools
The Blue Baths historic pools are geothermally heated. The original Juvenile Pool is generally around 31°c & the 2 hot soak pools between 37°c & 42°c. The pools are open from 10am till 6:00 pm daily though closing times may vary if the venue is being used for a private event. We offer swimming lessons by arrangement – please contact us.
