New Zealand Riverjet
The New Zealand Riverjet adventure offers a unique experience for anyone visiting Rotorua or Taupo. No other activity offers the icons of New Zealand Riverjet and Orakei Korako Cave and Thermal Park combined into one awesome combo; the Riverjet 'Thermal Safari'.
The 'Thermal Safari' adventure begins with a scenic jet boat ride down the mighty Waikato River through great pine forests and open farmland that line the river back combined with some of New Zealand's most beautiful un-spoilt native forest. The sleek black jet boat then takes you through magnificent Tutukau Gorge were canyon walls rise dramatically up to 50 metres above the water. Sit back and take in the remarkable landscape, learn the cultural history and legends of the area and enjoy an abundance of unique wildlife.
Once at Orakei Korako Thermal Park, the experience includes a fabulous walk around steaming cliffs, silica terraces, boiling mud, unique rock formations and the impressive Orakei Korako cave. When you're back at the the boat, jump in, hang on tight and enjoy all the thrills, excitement, speed and legendary 360 degree spins you would expect from a Hamilton Jet.
The other NZ Riverjet trip option is the challenge of 'The Squeeze'. This is an awesome adventure that brings you up close to a slice of New Zealand scenery only a select few have seen. After your relaxing trip through the spectacular river scenery and Tutukau Gorge, your driver asks you to disembark the boat into knee deep geothermal heated water. You then head towards a narrow gap in the cliff face ahead and start maneuvering your way through narrow crevasses, climbing over boulders and wading through the warm water until you emerge into an idyllic natural bathing pool complete with warm waterfalls and boulder seating. Once back at the boat you will complete your trip with an action packed jet boat ride back to base!
