Lyons Lakestay
Rotorua's smallest and only organic 'boutique style' backpackers, B&B or holiday unit is nestled in bush on the shores of Lake Okareka.
Your hosts, Cheryl and Steve, aim to make this natural, picturesque area accessible to all. Four picturesque lakes within just minutes of the Lakestay. The lakestay is located a scenic 10-minute drive from Rotorua. Beds start from just $30pp per night.
Get up close and personal with the local flora and fauna, kayak out on the lake, take a lake edge walk through wetlands and native bush, mountainbike around the area or head out on to a lake for a spot of trout fishing.
We offer FREE use of a dinghy and life-jackets, free organic produce and smoked trout (when available) and have kayaks and mountainbikes for hire.
We can accommodate small groups of up to eight persons. Our economy room sleeps 3-4 persons, with double/twin room also available. The lakestay is fully equipped with a modern kitchen which opens on to BBQ/courtyard area. The rooms have glimpses of the lake or bush/garden view with a short stroll to the lake ege and a jetty.
We offer safe, off road parking and are more than happy to help and advise in your decision-making, bookings and can transfer you to Rotorua airport for free.
