Astelia Lodge
Astelia Lodge is a luxury Bed & Breakfast set in 5 acres of landscaped grounds in a rural location, 15 minutes south of Rotorua. The house is a customised Lockwood design built specifically for guest comfort and privacy and has stunning views of the Horohoro Bluffs. Featuring wooden interiors, under floor heating and well appointed suites, the rooms have Super King sized beds with luxury linen and cosy electric blankets. Spacious ensuite bathrooms are of a contemporary style with a large walk-in shower. Complementary hand made toiletries are provided from a neighbouring Lavender farm, www.handmadenz.com. Wall mounted TVs have a wide selection of Sky channels.
The East Suite has wheelchair access.
We provide complementary wine on arrival, fresh flowers and a fruit bowl. Guests have tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Snacks and non alcoholic drinks are available on request, and we keep a small wine selection for purchase also. We bake fresh bread and pastry treats each day. There is a choice of breakfasts, for example organic bacon & eggs or roast mushrooms on toast with lemon and tarragon crème fraiche. You may have a continental selection if you wish.
We offer evening meals with 48hrs notice. The menu is small and rotates seasonally and might include, for example, salmon baked with lemon grass, rack of lamb on soft polenta or warm haloumi and chickpea salad. We always have a choice of meat, fish or vegetarian dishes and a seasonal dessert to follow.
Rotorua city is only 15 minutes away with a vast array of activities and attractions which we can organise and booked for you if you wish. The relaxing Waikite hot pools are just a short drive in to Waikite Valley, a great place to relax after a busy day sight seeing.
We have archery equipment available for anyone interested in trying their hand at target shooting and mountain bikes for guest to use in the local Redwoods Forest. We can arrange helicopter tours with www.Helipro.co.nz , and we can also arrange for any of our guests to use the extensive facilities at the nearby exclusive Treetops Lodge, www.treetops.co.nz just 10 minutes away. We have a small dog, a cat, and a goat called Elliot.
