Ann's lovely organic fruit trees, vegie gardens and lawns off the back verandah. 2 bedrooms:-1 with a double bed, 1 with 3 single beds.The lounge has a double bed and a double pullout sofabed. With full kitchen (oven, microwave, toaster,fridge/freezer, even a dishwasher) and full laundry facilities (washing machine and dryer.) Save yourself a fortune in laundry charges. 1 bathroom with shower . 2 toilets. Hair dryer, Sky TV, electric blankets, heating, iron. Sleeps up to 9. Tariff: Double $99-$159 (seasonal/no spa pool)

2 bedroom suite :- 1 bedroom with a double bed and it's own TV and ensuite bathroom. 1 bedroom with 2 singles.The lounge has a single bed and a double pullout sofabed. There is a full-size self-fill, heated spa pool in your own private garden courtyard. There is a 2nd bathroom and a 2nd TV and a full kichen (oven, microwave, toaster,fridge) and full laundry facilities (washing machine and dryer.) Save yourself a fortune in laundry charges. Hair dryer, Sky TV, electric blankets, heating, iron. Sleeps up to 7. Tariff: Double $149-$179 (seasonal)

Ann's is a unique and affordable motel that has family charm (some rooms feature pictures of Ann's sons) and an ever-friendly host who knows a lot about local tourism. This always-welcoming spot is all about the character of its wonderful owner, from the gardens (designed by Ann's Gran) to Maori/ocean-themed bedspreads. Even the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign features quirky options like 'We have escaped our 12hr-a-day jobs and truly deserve to be left in peace!' Each room is named for a local geothermal feature: The Crater (Room No 1) features a spa snuggled into its courtyard. For larger groups there's a house next door that Ann rents out at negotiable rates, though it books up in advance during summer and holidays. When Ann gives you tips on activities or says she'll get you a deal on a hangi, you know she's the real deal.
